Cookery School

Welcome to the Beach Bistro Cookery School at the Gallivant Hotel, for simple, seasonal cookery that you can do at home. Our courses are perfect for anyone who can boil an egg to enthusiastic home cooks with a focus on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

Uniquely our courses involve a trip to meet one of our many suppliers to get an insight into where our produce comes from and to pick up some supplies. Days culminate with a Master Class hosted by our head chef where a variety of very seasonal dishes are prepared.

Please come hungry as the day involves lots of eating and tasting of food throughout, starting with a light breakfast on arrival and ending with a delicious seasonal feast with a glass of wine, all in the wonderful surroundings of our beach house hotel.

All cookery schools include a light welcome breakfast at the start of the day, transportation to meet one of our suppliers, a Masterclass from our Head Chef, coffee/tea breaks, full course notes supplied in a folder (recipes, tips, supplier details, etc) and a sit down feast with a glass of wine to finish the day.

Cookery School £95 per person, 10am – 5pm

Customer Reviews

“Amazing day. Loved Chef’s passion for only working with suppliers a few miles from the hotel. Loved the feast at the end of the day – way too much though. Thank you again.” HR, Tenterden

“Really good day. Not only was Chef’s enthusiasm infectious, I really enjoyed meeting some interesting people on the class, a couple I have kept in touch with since…” SP, Hawkhurst

“Move over Hugh F-W! I’ll be back!” BR, Brighton

“Meeting Todd and seeing his animals on the farm was a real eye-opener. You should run a course for some of the local schools. Informative day that has inspired me to go back to my local butcher. The late afternoon lunch was delicious.” TM, Dulwich
