The Bistro at the Gallivant is located opposite the dunes and extraordinary golden beach of Camber sands. Run by Ben Fisher, ex Tom Aikens and The French Laundry, we are one of only a very small handful of restaurants in the South East of England to be awarded 2 AA rosettes.
Our menus rely on the quality of the ingredients that we source from artisan suppliers and family fishermen and farmers who live and work within 30 miles of the Bistro.
The New England style Bistro is a light and airy space reflecting our location with large glass doors that open onto terraces in the summer, the perfect place to enjoy alfresco lunches and early suppers. In other months and by night, the atmosphere is still relaxed but romantic and more sophisticated.
We are located just as you enter Camber, opposite the beach car park, about 3 miles from Rye just over an hour and a half from London.
In 2013 the Bistro was voted as one of the ’12 best seafood restaurants in the UK’ (Red Magazine) and ’10 best places to eat by the beach in the UK’ (The Times)
